The order is worth about' sB.2m for Leyland, andj about $6.6m for Ford. The New Zealand Government announced last year that manufacturers could bring in the consignments of assembled vehicles because of the demand for new cars. A motor-industry spokesman said that Leyland’s shipments comprised 2400 Austin and Morris cars, including Minis, Maxis and Marinas, 400 Jaguars, and 1000 Rover-Triumph models. Ford would ship more than 3500 cars—lloo Escorts, 1435 Capris, and 1000 Cortinas.
