Situation at 8 p.m. A complex depression covers the eastern Tasman Sea and is moving slowly east; a slow-moving front lies across the east of the North Island. Forecasts:
CANTERBURY. — Moderate north - easterlies near the coast, light winds inland; early-morning fog and low cloud clearing to become mainly fine; moderate temperatures.
BULLER, MARLBOROUGH, NELSON. - Moderate northerlies; some earlymorning low cloud and mist and isolated afternoon showers near the ranges, otherwise fine and mild. WESTLAND. — Light north-easterlies; occasional showers becoming confined to the ranges; mild.
OUTLOOK. — Mainly fair but a cool southerly change with showers mav reach South Canterbury and Westland late in the day.
