N. Harris on Jandell
"Tile Press" Special Service AUCKLAND. The successful Woodville apprentice. N. G. Harris, will renew an association with Jandell during the Wellington Cup meeting. Harris, who last rode Jandell when second in a maiden event at Ellerslie in July, will be back on the Takanini filly in the Wellington Stakes on Saturday and Is booked to ride her also in the Wellington Derby next Monday. Jandell has been ridden lately, in a run of fine form, by W. Robinson, an apprentice in the employ of C. F. Fenwick who trains the filly for Sir William Stevenson. A change of rider is necessary because Robinson is unable to make the trip south. Fenwick will be taking both Jandell and Shy Ways to Levin, on their way to Trentham. He expects to be running others of his team at Pukekohe this Saturday, and at Paeroa on Wednesday- next week, so will need Robinson's services at home. Robinson rode Jandell to a close second in her last start, behind Fury’s Order in the NewZealand Derby, and won the Avondale Guineas and Waikato Guineas on her in her two starts beforehand. “There is absolutely no suggestion,” said Fenwick “that we are dissatisfied with the way he had been riding the filly.”
