Wool firm at Wanganui

WANGANUI, January 16. Prices were from generally very firm to sellers’ favour at the Wanganui wool sale today, according to the official report.

However, some poorly pre-, pared, mixed, average to inferior types were discounted. Europe was the principal buyer, with limited support from New Zealand carpet' mills. The offering of 30,226 bales i comprised mainly ewe fleecei an<£early shorn with 12 per: cent lambs’ wool, and the! usual oddments. Because of the dry season much of the wool was showing dust but less yolk and water stain were evident. The lambs’ wool was mainly in the 2in to 3ini bracket, and was also dusty. * RANGE OF PRICES Fine Crossbred. 50/ Ms: Good .. 169 to 178 Average 161 to 168!
