THREAT TO MAYOR
The Mayor (Mr N. G. Pickering) is the second prominent Christchurch person to receive a threatening letter connected with the Commonwealth Games. Mr Pickering received a letter threatening his life in October and gave it to the police. He said he did not take it seriously. The chairman of the Games Organising Committee (Mr R. S. Scott) received a threatening letter last week.
