C. Blyth, Britain’s leading contender for honours in the third leg of the 27,000-mile Whitbread round-the-world yacht race, has edged into the lead on handicap as his boat. Great Britain 11, heads for Cape Horn. Blyth and his paratroop crew were reported to be leading the 13-strong fleet by about 300 miles. R. Carlin's ketch Sayula II remains in the over-all lead after winning the second leg and being runner-up in the first. The French yachts, Grand Louis and Kritter, are in third and fifth positions, separated by the Royal Naval cutter, Adventure.

Friendly match.—England and Argentina will meet in a friendly soccer match in London on May 22. It will be the first game between the two teams since the World Cup quarter-final in London in 1966, which England won, 1-0.
