New course for golf
Rowan Avenue refuse tip land at Bexley was set aside by the Christchurch City Council last evening for the | ultimate establishment of a golf course. The Canterbury Provincial i Golf Association confirmed; its interest in forming a new' i course in the area, and said: lit would submit plans of the! 1 layout. The council asked for I this as soon as possible so ! that the disposal of further! refuse could conform to the! ultimate use and contour. The works and services! committee said the development would exclude land to be sold to the Christchurch: Drainage Board and also an! area of approximately 10: acres on the Pages Road frontage.
