Jondor Hanover Nelson pick

'From Our Own Reporter/ NELSON. Jondor Hanover looked desperately unlucky when he finished third to Flying Eagle and Local View over 11 furlongs in the Benson and Hedges at Richmond Park on Saturday. He should be untroubled to make amends in the Willowmere Handicap, the first leg of the T.A.B. concession double on the second day of the Nelson winter meeting tomorrow.

On Saturday J. A. Carmichael gave Jondor Hanover a splendid run close to the pace, hut everything went against him at the straight entrance as he started to improve. A tiring runner got along-' side him and two horses ini front of him began to shorten stride. By the time he had cleared them Flying Eagle and Local View had opened a commanding lead and in the circumstances he did well to finish third, two lengths and a nose away. Jondor Hanover has shown ability above average, and has impressed as a potential! stayer capable of rapid promotion. He should master the two miles better than most in the race and from his handy barrier draw of No. 7 he

should further the fine record of J. W. Smolenski’s team in

the last few weeks. On Satur- } day he produced the winners! of three races and has now had 5£ wins for the season.)
