Shooting title to Neale
J. A. Neale (Avon) won the Canterbury smallbore indoor rifleshooting championship on Saturday after the graduated guage was used to separate him from J. Fleming (Ashburton). Both marksmen had scored 400.35 from the possible 400.40.
The two Commonwealth Games aspirants—l. R. Ballinger (Sydenham), who won the title last year, and J. A. 'Scott (Timaru) — finished with 398.38 and 399.35, respectively. There were 144 entries, 59 of which were in the master grade. Results were.— Master grade—Neale (Avon), 400.35, 1; Fleming (Ashburton),' 400.35, 2; A. S. Black (Culverden), 400.31, 3; T.
