Tinned fruit 'declining’

Tinned fruit, one of the products which had started off the Wattie organisation, was beginning to decline in popularity, although not to an alarming extent, said Sir James Wattie. He attributed this to changing times and changing diets. Sir James Wattie told a meeting of the company’s shareholders that the decline in the popularity of tinned fruit showed how necessary it was for the company to diversify.
