Firm to make margarine
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 14. The Kaipara Co-operative ; Dairy Company, expects to Ibe the first dairy company to market its own polyunsaturated margarine—early next month. The price is expected to be the same as for | other brands. I A dairy industry consortium announced in April that it would produce margarine, but manufacture is still some time away. The consortium—Aspak Distributors, Ltd—has been formed of all licensed butter distributors, the New Zealand Co-oper-ative Dairy Company, and Vegetable Oils Pty, of Australia. Abels, Ltd, the cooking margarine manufacturer, announced on June 1 that it was now making polyunsaturated margarine. The Kaipara company has gone into partnership with Provincial Traders, of Brisbane, which will train the staff. The margarine, to be distributed by Butland Industries, ultimately would be available throughout New Zealand, the company said. Kaipara has also announced that it will resume manufacture of easy-spread butter.
