Papanui garden competition
The McDougall Cup, which is awarded annually by the Papanui Beautifying Association to the premier garden in its annual summer garden competition, has been won by Mr and Mrs W. Dailey, of 175 Mays Road. Because of the number Of prize-winning gardens this year, the association appointed three panels of judges to select the best garden in the district. Most gardens were of a good standard, considering the weather during the growing season, and those with pastel flowers seemed to attract the judges most. The judges were also impressed by tile planting of ornamental trees and shrubs in many gardens. Full results were. — McDougall Cup (premier garden): Mr and Mrs W.
