Pilgrimage to N.Z.

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. A party of 92 former United States Marines will arrive at Auckland tomorrow on a fortnight’s pilgrimage. They were members of the 2nd Marine Division which was based at a series of camps just north of Wellington in 1943, after the bitter fighting at the start of the Solomons campaign. They are coming back, many with their wives, to see what MacKays’s Crossing (Paekariki), Judgeford, Titahi '! Bay,. Pauatahanui, Trentham, and Masterton look like after 30 years. They will be joined by 20 former marines now living in New Zealand.
