TOWN HALL PRAISED
Lord Porritt, who opened’ the Christchurch Town Hall] complex last year, has’ written to the chairman of I the Town Hall Committee; (Mr H. G. Hay) to thank him for the specially-bound copy of the official history of the hall, “A Dream Come True,’’ by W. J. A. Brittenden.
“I am delighted to have it as a memento of our connection with your really magnificent enterprise on which again I do most heartily congratulate your committee,” said Lord Porritt.
“As you know, we were both enormously impressed when we paid it our larewell visit and I am still hoping we may see it in full swing during the Games next year.”
