Willie Beware improving

"The Press” Special Service INVERCARGILL. A smart sprint trial by Willie Beware was a feature of training in Invercargill yesterday morning. In a solo run he dashed over half a mile in 49 4-ssec, the last three furlongs In 36 4-ssec. Willie Beware has yet to race this season, but has not looked back since he resumed training The trestles on the course proper were 15ft out, and the track was firm. Rain fell for most of the training period. Little Nipper ran in from the half mile in 53 4-ssec in a useful solo run.

Free Romance and Rebell were paired over six furlongs in Imin 21 2-ssec, the last four in 53 4-3 sec.

Mr Chisholm was holding the novice, Passapatu, comfortably in running five furlongs in Imin 3 4-ssec, the last three in 37sec.
