No increase in egg prices
Egg prices have held for the past 20 months and indications are that they will remain stable for some time yet Credit for this, in the face of rapid price increases for other foods, rests with the stable prize system introduced for eggs throughout the country by the Egg Marketing Authority in March, 1971. The system has done away with the uncertainty associated with the old seasonal price fluctuations and is proving beneficial to both consumers and producers. Efficiency improvements in poultry management have bought with them a more even flow of production and this has made prize stabilisation possible. A move the discerning housewife will welcome in view of recent difficulties in balancing the budget —Advt
