Questions on ferries

Two questions for the incoming Minister in charge of the Cook Strait ferries will be put by the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce. This was decided at a meeting of the chamber’s council last evening on the suggestion of a former president, Mr L A Holland.

The questions are: “Was the Assistant General Manager of New Zealand Railways reported correctly in the statement that said motormen working in the ferries were paid $6OOO a year for working four days in every 10?

"If so, will the Minister tell us exactly how such a situation has arisen?”
