Christchurch Giris’ High School pupils yesterday cleared the Avon River of litter between the Town Hall and Hereford Street Thirty girls of Form 4GI, and their teachers, hauled about 550 bottles from the river for removal by a Christchurch Drainage Board truck. The girls said they had studied the effects of pollution during the year, and wanted to help solve the problem.
