E.Z.I. prospects “improved”
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter) MELBOURNE, Dec. 5. ' E.Z. Industries, Ltd’s prospects for the present financial year are more favourable than last year, the chairman (Sir Edward Cohen) said at the annual meeting. Net profits for the first 16 weeks of the year are at a “satisfactory” level, as opposed to “poor” at the same time last year. The company proposes to increase the interim dividend this year with a view to setting a suitable level, but this does not of necessity mean an increase for the vear, he said. The chairman said the development of the Ranger uranium prospect in the Northern Territory was expected to cost not less than s6om. He said, however, that E.Z. shareholders would probably not have to provide funds for the development. Initially, plant capacity will be 3000 tons of uranium oxide a year, and production is expected to begin in July, 1976.
