SEEING THE LIGHT

Motorists seeing motorcycles on the road with headlights on during daylight need have no fear. It is merely a safety measure. In Wellington a number of riders keep their lights on during the day so that they can be seen. Any rider who has been in the unfortunate position of lying on the road with an anxious motorist saying, “I didn’t see you” will understand the move. The Australian Government has made daylight lighting obligatory for motor-cyclists in an attempt to cut down deaths and in the hope that motorists will see the light before it is too late.
