Return from U.K. stage course
A Christchurch secondary School teacher, Peter Lees-Jeffries, who went to Britain five years ago on a Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council award, will take up a teaching position at Linwood High School next year. Mr Lees-Jeffries, who taught at Darfield High School before going to Britain, took a post-graduate course in stage design at the Croydon College of Art, London. After completing his course
he resumed teaching and took part in school drama activities as well as with various amateur groups. Notable among these were three productions designed for the Comhill Players, an old established religious drama group who perform portions of the great Mystery Cycle every Christmas in the Church of St Peter upon Comhill, and for the biennial Festival of the City of London. Mrs Lees-Jeffries will return to a teaching position at Christchurch Girls High School, where she taught before going to Britain with her husband.
