Sunday film
"Hell Drivers” is next Sunday’s feature film. A young man just out of prison gets a job as a truck driver with a ballast hauling firm, and soon discovers that the minimum of 12 runs a day means fast speed over death-trap roads in a badlymaintained lorry. Having regard to his previous record, Tom, the driver, ducks a fight between the locals and the truck drivers at the local dance, and earns the active enmity of all the other drivers.
This film, made in 1957, stars Stanley Baker, Herbert Lom, and two young men who were to become much better-known later on, Sean Connery and Patrick McGoohan.
