D. E. Reed injured

(N.Z. Press Association) BLENHEIM. As the result of a four-herre fall inside the two furlongs in the Clifford Novlee Stakes No. I at the Marlborough Racing Club’s meeting on Saturday, D. E. Reed, the rider of Eskay, was admitted to tlie Wairau Hospital. He received slight back injuries and his condition was reported as being satisfactory. The judicial committee reported that with about two furlongs to go, Dinolace (E. Andrew), which was racing directly behind Glengarry Lad (D. Foley) fell and brought down AUanbrook (D. Sanderson), Eskay (Reed), and Dee Nette (R. Weaver). The inquiry found that Glengarry Lad went quickly and shifted ground with the result that Dlnola clipped its heels accidentally and fell.
