BEST BETS
Addington PRECOCIOUS (Race 8), blk m, 9yrs, by Johnny Globe—Dauphine, trained at Templeton by J. A. Carmichael. One of best staying trotters in commission. Has gone two fine races for third and unlucky fifth over 13 furlongs after staring from 30 yards so far at the meeting. Comes in on 18 yards this time and should outstay most in the race. Will form a strong bracket with Good Admiral. Riverton PHAR WYN (Race ♦), ch g, 4yrs, by Fountainhead—Windvale Girl. Trained by C. T. Stewart, Timaru. An easy winner the first day of the Oamaru meeting. It took good mare, Bonnie Belle, to beat him by a head on the second day. Ellerslie VILLAGE OAK (Race ♦), b g, 4yrs, by Oakville—Fondness, trained by W. Winder, Te Rapa. Beaten by bad check at Tauranga last Saturday. He is a model of consistency and is due to win. Feilding NEW MOON (Race 7), br m, 4yrs, Pakistan H — Moonlight, trained at Woodville by J. W. Harris. Has tremendous ability and seems Ideally matched to the undemanding six • furlong course at Feilding. Though she has not started since January looks the bet of the day. Wairarapa ALADDIN (Raes «), b g, 2yrs, by Globe of Light—Mt Etna, trained by D. Jones, Hastings. Most impressive winner in his last two starts. Is well drawn and should have little trouble adding to his record. Hawera MONACO PRINCE (Race 4), b g, 3yrs, by Garrison HanoverMonaco Lady. He has been a model of con slstency and should prove too good for what looks a moder ate field. Rotorua MAESTA (Race 3), b g, 4yrs, bv Oakvllle-Malinda, trained by W. Winder, Te Rapa. Run down last bit at Tauranga on Saturday after good win at previous start. Promising and should go well.
