HONORARY DEGREE

(N.Z. Press Association! PALMERSTON NORTH, March 31. An honorary doctor of science degree was conferred on the retiring chairman of the Meat Board (Sir John Ormond), this week. Representatives of the meat industry were among the 250 people who saw the Chancellor of Massey University (Mr L. W. Gandar) confer the degree. Mr Gandar said the degree was “something not conferred lightly.” Sir John Ormond was “honoured for his services to die meat industry, to agriculture, and through them to the community at large.” ,
