FIRST-AID CAMPAIGN
<N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 31. I The Minister at Transport. (Mr Gordon) hopes that pri-l vate and commercial motor-> ists will respond to the Order! of St John-Automobile Association national campaign to I provide first-aid instruction for all road-users. Mr Gordon said in a statement that he fully supports any extension of first-aid knowledge, particularly where it can help reduce the suffering of the victims of traffic accidents.
It was the moral duty of every individual to be able to give effective basic firstaid to the injured and sick, the chairman of the council of the Medical Association (Dr R. Elliott) commented in a statement on the joint programme.
He added: “In the great ajority of cases the first >rson to the scene of an cident is untrained. It is sential that everyone in the immunity be prepared to ve immediate first-aid.”
