18 die of smallpox

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) . BELGRADE, March 31. Health officials fear that new cases of smallpox might be discovered among 800 people quarantined in the Jugoslav capital where five patients have died among 29 confirmed cases. The officials said last night that no new cases had been reported in the last 48 hours but added that a person could have been in contact with infected patients and might not have been traced and isolated. They said 11 persons had died of the disease in the Serbian province of Kosovo and two deaths had been reported in the towns of Cacak and Novi Pazar, bringing the death toll in the whole country to 18.
