Methodism stamp
A special date stamp will be used at the Kerikeri Post Office on January 22, to commemorate the landing in New Zealand of the Rev. Samuel Leigh, New Zealand’s first Methodist missionary.
Kerikeri is the nearest Post Office to Rangihoua Bay, the place where Mr Leigh landed.
Persons wanting covers cancelled with the special date stamp should forward stamped, addressed envelopes to the Postmaster, Kerikeri, with a request that the envelopes be cancelled with the special date stamp. Requests should reach the Postmaster, Kerikeri, by January 21. The outside covers should be endorsed “Anniversary of Methodism Covers.”
