Seamen for Kowhai
Seven replacements for seamen dismissed from the Union Steam Ship Company’s intercolonial motor vessel Kowhai, were signed on at the Government Shipping Office at Lyttelton yesterday. The original men had been dismissed - for refusing to take the ship to sea between Newcastle and Sydney (the ship’s previous port of call) on December 14. The Kowhai is expected to sail for Dunedin early in January;
