Fearsome spider

A Marshland Road woman was weeding her garden yesterday when she felt something tickling her arm. She turned to brush it off —and found a spider the size of a 50c piece. After regaining her composure she bottled the creature and had it identified as a female Dolomedes spider, a series found in swampy areas and able to bite quite painfully. Mrs R. T. Griffiths said the spider measured 2Jin from leg to leg.
