N.Z. champion defeated
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND The title-holder, R. J. Sutton (Auckland), was beaten by W. Lynn (Nelson) in the third round of the Rothmans New Zealand chess championships at Hamilton yesterday. Lynn now leads the tournament with three points. Other third round results were: G. Hall (Christchurch) beat G. Kerr (Dunedin), M. Haley (Auckland) drew with P. Stuart (Auckland). In the second round adjourn ments, G. Haase (Dunedin) beat L. Whitehouse (Auckland). A. Day (Auckland) drew with P. Garbett (Auckland).
