(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL. There were no ticket® on the winning on-course double at the Winton Trotting Club’s meeting yesterday. The winning double was paid out on the runner-up and the concession on the third runner. The stage for an outsize dividend was set when Lady Nugent won the first leg. the Novice Stakes No. 1, at long odds. She carried only $l3 in a doubles pool of $3171. This meant there were 26 50c units alive for the second leg. and only 10 of the 19 runners had tickets reinvested on. their chances. One of the nine which did not carry any tickets was Roy, which led all the way for an easy win. The winning double was paid out on the runner-up. In Demand. which carried two tickets. The Miss Nugent—ln Demand combination paid $1775.75 for $l. The concession with the third hbrse, Adios Ensign, which carried three tickets, was worth $507.35 for $l.
