Worrying day
(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, Dec. 28. A Greymouth couple, Mr and Mrs H. S. Dowling, of 45 Omoto Road, had a worrying Christmas Day until they received a. telegram from their married daughter in Townsville, saying that she, her husband, and family were all well in spite of Friday’s cyclone which ravaged Townsville. Their daughter, Mrs Joan Hansen, did not say how the family house had weathered the cyclone. “They have had more storms since then, and we are hoping for more news,” Mrs Dowling said. Another former Greymouth woman, Mrs Colleen O’Neill (nee Ollerenshaw), who lives in Townsville, has been in Greymouth for the last few weeks. She left yesterday to return home, flying first to Brisbane and then on to Townsville.
