Drug-users in protest

(N.z.e.A.-ntuttr~-copvTioht> TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, CALIFORNIA, December 28. Eighteen American servicemen who barricaded themselves in a hospital ward in protest against Army drug policies, ended their demonstration after 10 hours. The men, Vietnam veterans who had just returned, as drug-users, for rehabilitation treatment in the United States, seized control of the hospital floor shortly after midnight. They called off their protest after discussing the Army’s drug-care programme with military officials and agreeing to undertake the treatment. The men had originally wanted .to return to their homes immediately, without treatment.
