Obituary MR J. MANSON
Mr James Manson, an identity in the township of Hanmer Springs and a former manager of the Hanmer Springs Lodge, died in Christchurch this week. He was 77. During his years as the manager, Mr Manson supers vised the building of the lodge which was opened in Bom at Craigiebum station, Mr Manson spent his early years there and on St Helens station before he became manager of the lodge. Mr Manson was a member of the Hanmer Businessmen’s Association, the Canterbury Progress League, and the South Island Promotion Association. He was also a Justice of the Peace, a former member of the North Canterbury Hospital Board, and at the time of his death was patron of the Hanmer Springs Rifle Club.
