LAST GAME OF THE SEASON.—The curtain fell on the 1971 Rugby season in Christchurch with the playing of the Commonwealth Games Fund benefit match at Lancaster Park on Sunday. In this incident from the game, D. A. Hales (Games team, with ball) is endeavouring to escape the clutches of his marker, M. P. Collins. L A. Kirkpatrick (left), a member of the Invitation XV, is striding up to help Collins. On the extreme right is C. E. Meads, captain of the Invitation team, which won the game, 39-34.
