The Auckland Cup winner, Leading Light, was one of seven horses bred In New Zealand to win at Monticello, United States, last Saturday nights - Driven by J.Grundy, Leading Light won an *BOOO mile race in 2min 1 3-Ssec. Ross Trevor won a *OOOO event in 2min J l-ssec. Broadway. loredale, Promise, Jimmy Dieman, and Linda Lee also won. At the Roosevelt Race Way. on Friday night Stylish Major won a race for trotters in 2mln 4 4-Ssec. Black On won a *7OOO race In 2min 1 4-Ssec, while Lady Madonna and Unpredictable were also winners at the meeting.
Cricket.—The former Yorkshire and England cricketer, K. Taylor, may return to firstclass cricket next season. Taylor, who played for England ta three test matches, has returned from a
coaching post ta South Africa. He Is likely to play for Leieester-H shire. r-
