RUMANIA WANTS A TOUR
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Rumania, one of the strongest Rugby - playing countries in Continental Europe, wants to send its national team on tour to New Zealand. The Consul General of Rumania in New Zealand, Mr G. H. Scortea, has written to the New Zealand Rugby Union on the matter. Mr Scortea said that with more experienced coaching, Rumania could achieve a high rating in the Rugby world, and that a tour of New Zealand might help in achieving this. The chairman of the union, Mr J. L. Sullivan, said yesterday that the letter had been referred to the council, which will meet on October 1. Rumania is a regular and formidable opponent of France, and has won on occasions in the annual matches.
