Fiji exercise for troops
One hundred and twenty men of the Ist Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment, wfll leave Christchurch in two R.N.ZA.F. i Hercules on .Friday for Fiji and Exercise Tropic Day IV. The 12-day exercise will be carried out in a jungle northwest of Suva. It is meant to give the troops experience of I the sort of environment they . would find :■ in South-East Asia. i The detachment will be i under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel J. A. Mace.
