Sterling loan for Tasman

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, Sept. 4. Credit up to £l.7m has ben made available to the Tasman Pulp and Paper Company, Ltd, by a consortium of British banks to finance expansion at Kawerau. The line of credit was announced in London today by Lazard Brothers and Company, a British merchant bank which is leading the consortium. Guaranted by the Exports Credit Guarantee Department of Britain, the credit will cover the purchase from British manufacturers of plant for a new sulphate pulp mill. The loan will be at the standard rate for such business of 7 per cent. The finance will be for 85 per cent of the British element of approved purchases. Lazards said that the other banks included in the consortium are the Bank of Scotland, Barclays, Clydesdale, Coutts and Company, Lloyds, Midland, National Westminster, the Royal Bank of Scotland, and Williams
