Folk-rock concert
A folk-rock concert, organised by the Young Christian Workers in aid of the Youth East Pakistan Appeal, will be held in the Civic Theatre this Sunday afternoon at 2 pun. A Christchurch folk-singer, Phil Garland, will compere the show and provide some of the entertainment He will be joined in several numbers by Christine Smith, who will also sing solos. Miss Smith, also of Christchurch, is well known for her part in the television series, "Ah Dee Do. Ah Dee Day.” Three Christchurch groups will appear at the concert, each taking a bracket for about half an hour. They are Green Ginger, Lord, and But-1
ler. Bulter has gained in reputation since its beginnings through the Open Door of the Anglican City Mission. The organisation for the concert has been done by four young women—Anne Martin, Jane McHugh, Colleen Coffey, and Christine Ford—who felt they would like to make their own contribution towards helping Pakistani refugees. Another group working to raise money for the Pakistani refugees is the Sacred Heart Young Christian Students. Thirty members of the sixth and seventh forms at the college are looking for a iob for a dav this month and the monev they eam will go into the Y.E.P-A. appeal.
