SCHOOLS GOLF

The St Andrew’s College No. 1, P. E. McEwan, provided one of the most notable performances of the first two rounds of the Canterbury secondary schools* golf tournament at Harewood yesterday.

Playing off a handicap of 8, McEwan managed to halve his morning game with his Christ’s College opponent, G. Saunders, a 2-handicap player. McEvan had the help of six birdies. In the A grade, four teams are unbeaten, and the outcome should be decided when the two favoured teams, Tirnaru and Christchurch Boys’ High Schools meet in the final round this afternoon.
