Woman dies in accident
A woman was killed and her husband seriously injured in a head-on collision between two vehicles on a curve on Halswell Junction Road, near Nicholls Road, Halswell, last evening.
48, is in the resuscitation ward at Christchurch Hospital. He is on the seriously ill list Robert Loeffen, their son, is in Princess Margaret Hospital. His condition late last night was satisfactory. Keith Purdon, aged 46, of Trents Road, Prebbleton, is in the resuscitation ward of Christchurch Hospital. He is on the seriously ill list. The accident occurred at 6.55 p.m. Mrs Loeffen was in the passenger’s seat of a Holden station waggon and Mr Loeffen was driving. Robert was in the back seat Mr Purdon was driving a Holden car and had rio passengers. Both cars were severely damaged. Those injured were taken to hospital in two St John ambulances. '
A 12-year-old son of the couple was also hurt and the driver of the other car seriously injured. The woman was Francises Johanna Loeffen, aged 48, of 44 Victors Road, Hoon Hay. Her husband, .Theodore John William Loeffen, aged
