Public-speaking contest

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Aug. 31. The public speaking contest for the Anthony Eden Cup, conducted on a national basis by the Royal Overseas League, was won in Tauranga tonight by Helen Cull, of St Mary’s College, Gisborne. The second place was won by Pauline Dore, of Timaru Girls’ High School, and the third prize was won by Brendon Brown, of St Bede’s College, Christchurch. The district contests were held in July.
