DUTIES: Responsible for the executive direction of the work of the Council; this would include attendance at the Council meetings, implementation of policy decisions, the application of budgetary controls, administration and sensitivity fbr the public relations function. QUALIFICATIONS: Age range flexible, but under SO preferred; must have a proven record of sound administrative experience at executive level and preferably a good knowledge of the Arts or some previous association in related fields. A knowledge of New Zealand conditions is considered desirable. SALARY: A substantial salary in keeping with the responsibility of the appointment will be negotiated and there are customary fringe benefits. Working conditions are congenial. This is a key position in the Arts and carries considerable responsibility as well as prestige. It calls for a high degree of enthusiasm, administrative ability and imaginative thinking directed towards the promotion of broad cultural objectives in the community.
