(By WHIM WHAM) The Auckland University Students’ Association supports legalising the sale of marijuana, the joint Parliamentary Select 'Committee on bills- concerning drug abuse was t01d;..... “It ’does so not as a plea for hedonism but for a more balanced life-style against the anti-aestheticism and materialism of the older generation,” the association president, Mr W. J. Spring, said fa'liis submissions. —News. If Pot is ever legalised, Who’ll win? Some gross Materialist, whose Poison’s Gin. Boys, it’s a sad Dilemma that you’re in. The Mystagogues of Pot so piously plead It sounds more like a Sacrament than a Weed. He tells me I’m Anti-aesthetic, My Life-style is simply Pathetic, I must substitute Grass For my Pipe and my Glass, Like a mildly-Sedated Ascetic. If it’s so easy to get on without It, Why are They making all this Noise about It? Pot has its Martyrs, if it please your Sirship. The Difference is, it is Themselves they worship. They say it’s got to come, the Age of Pot. Am 1 supposed to blush? or yawn? or What? Down with Materialist Society! And up with Puberty, and Pot, Piety! P stands for Pot, and Peace, and Primrose Petals, War doesn’t cease, and nuclear Fall-out settles. An Argument for Fools, for Fools to settle, Is Alcohol the Pot, or Pot the Kettle? One’s old, We don’t pretend that we’re above It The Other’s new. Besides, the Kiddies love it. My Life-style’s wrong. That’s why I’m so satirical. Sir, shall We pray St Cannabis for a Miracle? Does he dream, while he importunes, That if ever the Law relaxes, The Oldies will make the Fortunes, And the Governments grab the Taxes?
