Rally for schools

Christchurch secondary school pupils will compete on Sunday, August 15, in the first of two car rallies counting towards a schools’ rally championship. The event will be open to all Christchurch secondary school pupils, and entries close with the organisers, the Christ’s College Car Club, on Thursday, August 12. The two-rally championship is sponsored by Mutual Rental Gars, Ltd, and the school team of two cars which does best over the two events will win a special trophy. A trophy will also be awarded to the individual over-all winner of the championship.

Soccer.—Malaysia beat South Vietnam, 2-0, in the opening game of the 12 naUon Merdexa soccer tournament at Kuala gumpur.
