250-year-old wreck found

(N.Z. Press Assn. —Cov-jrighi) RANKING INLET (North-west Territories), August 4. Seven adventure divers say that they have found the British frigate Albany, which was sunk in the Hudson Bay during a storm more than 250 years ago while on a trading and exploration expedition.

Mr Eric Disley, of Toronto, a spokesman for the diving team, says that the frigate was found intact in 27 feet of water 30 miles off shore, and that it was believed that a companion ship, the sloop Discovery was lying nearby. The two ships left England in 1718, equipped for a threeyear search for a North-west Passage. They sank a yeaf later, after being caught in a' storm on the Rankin Inlet, Hudson Bay, about 900 miles north of Winnipeg. Mr Disley says that the Albany was found to be viri tually intact, except for the fact that the hull was split.
