Girl dies in harbour
(<V.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Aug. 3. The body of a girl was recovered from Waitemata Harbour last night. She was Elizabeth Maria Dixon, aged 16, of Grey. Lynn. The police said Miss Dixon had been on Queen’s Wharf with crew members from the ship Carnatic. She apparently slipped while climbing on to the gangplank about 6.5 p.m. and fell between the wharf and the ship.
