FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A large anticyclone over the Tasman Sea is moving on to New Zealand. Forecast:

Canterbury.—Cloudy this morning about the coast and plains, otherwise fine with easterly winds, mainly moderate. Cool about the coast and becoming mild inland. Marlborough.—Winds between south and east predominating, mainly moderate; cloudy at first this morning but fine and mild in the afternoon. Nelson.—Moderate easterly winds apart from local sea breezes; fine weather, warm during the day. Buller and Westland.—Moderate easterlies apart from sea breezes developing in many places during the day. Warm day temperatures especially inland. Fine. Outlook.—Cloudy at times, but mainly fine.
